One, its hella faster to block it up, then shovel fulls of dirt. 1 block = 8 shovel fulls of dirt (Depending one the size (Reg.)) Two, All i did after that was throw the top dirt on. (Less grass the better, not recommended to build this way)

I just cut a square, place and repeat. I like to call it lego building. :) But yes as Flowm8 said, less grass the better.
